Dmitry, there’s an odd statement a couple paragraphs before the Conclusion in the posted case study. It says, “. Nicotinic acid decreases the excretion of uric acid. For this reason, I suggested that it be tried for the treatment of gout, but no trials have as yet been reported.“
That doesn’t square with my experience as I’ve taken up to…

Uric Acid, Nitric Oxide, and Potassium
To clarify, I had paused the protocol to try other options to reduce the swelling and especially the pain. Over a few days I experienced a slight reduction in both but I make no claim that potassium was what did it. It could have just as well have been diet (eliminating added sugar and hyperglycemic foods and abstinence from alcohol – which…

I think we should rename group to Gout, Uric Acid, LEAD
Treating gout with this protocol is an act of faith. There is so much (mis)information on the internet regarding niacin as a cause of gout/hyperuricemia. It’s either misinformation or incomplete information. Taking the N/G leap before my gout symptoms were completely cleared was a very difficult decision for me but I eventually bit…

Same lunch as the day before. Some chicken, mozzarella slices/tomato/basil.
No matter. I backed off to a total of 10/12 yesterday and everything was fine. For the next 10 days it’ll be 2.5/3 as I travel.

Upped dosage today to 2X 8/9.6. The first dose after breakfast was smooth, almost no flush. The second, about five hours later after lunch, however, caused upset stomach/loose bowels. I suppose that’s a sign to level off a bit.

Quick update
I’ve moved up to 6/7.2 twice a day. Swelling is 100% gone in my right foot, 90+% in the left. No pain. Left foot has a small knob (nob?) at the big toe joint, right has a really small one but both seem to be down from their peak size.
Despite what it says on Mayo Clinic’s website, niacin is not causing a build up of uric acid, even…

Yes, that was it. I logged out of the Crowdcast app, clicked on the link in the email notification and everything worked as it should.
Thank you.

Dmitry, I can access the podKats and Newcomers, etc. on my computer but on using the Crowdcast app on my iPhone. I’ll have to play around with clearing cache or maybe uninstalling/reinstalling the app to see if that will allow the phone to access. Right now when I click on the video links, the system is asking me for a passcode (Again, on…

How do you access the archived crowdcast and podkats videos? Where are they located(link) and do they require a passcode? They must be hiding in my blind spot.

Just wonder, Kathryn, how your husband is doing. I myself suffered through a prolonged gout flare in both feet simultaneously, by far the worst of my life. I am categorically averse to any prescriptions including allopurinol.
But now coming out of the hideous gout flare up under DK’s guidance I’ve built up to today’s dose of 7 g N/8.3 g G and…
